BIOGRAPHY

Trailblazer and committed leader in the advancement of early childhood education

A Professor of early childhood education and Pro-Director and Vice-Dean of research at UCL Institute of Education, Professor Ang has over 24 years of distinguished academic tenure, where she is renowned globally for her expertise in this field.

Professor Ang's research interests span diverse domains, including young children's learning and development, interdisciplinary research in early education, international policy, social and educational inequality, and teacher education and professional practice. In recognition of her research excellence, Professor Ang has been conferred Principal Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (PHEA) and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS).

Professor Ang collaborates with global partners via groundbreaking projects and research, which are supported by prestigious grants from organisations such as the British Academy, Education Endowment Fund (EEF), UNICEF, and Lien Foundation. She also steered the development of the first Early Childhood Care and Education Policy Toolkit for the UK Commonwealth Secretariat.

Professor Ang has spearheaded programmes to enhance learning outcomes for disadvantaged children and under-served communities. Her dedication to education is evident in her role as a Trustee for the Council for Education in the Commonwealth, where she continues to advocate for equitable and inclusive education practices.
